Tech Team News

USAW ND held its Greco/Freestyle state championships this past weekend at the Jamestown Civic Center.  Several Tech Team wrestlers participated in these events.  The list below contains the results for this weekend.  You can also review the complete results here.  I used the spreadsheet from the results posted to get this info.  If I have missed anyone, please let me know.

Tech Team members did well at the Grand Forks Freestyle/Greco Tournament this past weekend.  Several wrestlers wrestled their first tournament with these styles.  Keep up the good work.  We are missing a few results, if yours is one of them, please let us know and we will get them updated.

Tech Team sent several representatives of the state of North Dakota to Des Moines, Iowa for the AAU Middle School National Duals. We sent two teams---Stars and Stripes—with 20 weight classes each. Five of the seven medalists were from tech team:

Several Tech Team Members participated in the USAW Heartland National Dual teams this past weekend.  Our team members represented both ND and MN. 

Our Tech Team Members who qualified for the NYWA State Tournament fared well this past weekend.  Below are the results for these individuals.  Great job, and congratulations.

Several Tech Team members participated in the USA Folkstyle Nationals in Cedar Falls this weekend.  Competition was tough with over 2200 Sub-bantam through Junior wrestlers participating.  We would like to get more of our wrestlers here next year, so start planning for this trip next year.

This weekend we had Tech Team members participating in the ND State Folkstyle and MN NYWA Regional tournaments.  As you can see from the results the team had a successful weekend.  Great job.  To see the completed brackets click here.

Again, we had our team members participating in a variety of tournaments in multiple states this past weekend.  From the results it appears we had another good weekend.  Congratulations to all.

Mason Swegarden, Gus and Will McCarthy participated in the MN High School State Tournament this past weekend.

Tech Team Members covered a wide area of the state this weekend as they participated in a number of tournaments throughout the region.

The ND State High School Class A & B tournaments were held this weekend.

The Tech Team had 3 team members participate in the Liberty Nationals in Kansas City.

The Tech Team participated in several tournaments this weekend.  The results are posted below.  If you have information to add, please let me know.

3 Tech Team members participated in the Tulsa Nationals wrestling tournament this weekend.  This tournament had approximately 2000 of the top wrestlers from 40 states.

The Tech Team had five members travel to Iowa this past weekend to wrestle in a couple of tournaments and attend the Iowa - Oklahoma State wrestling dual.

This past weekend several Tech Team members participated in the duals at Worthington.  Tech Team Black was able to pull off a big win against a good Adrian team. 

Tech Team members participated in Barnesville and Forest Lake this weekend.  We had a really good team turnout at Barnesville.  Let's keep that up.

The Tech Team had 10 wrestlers participate in the Aberdeen tournament this weekend.  The strength of the brackets varied but it was a good tournament for some of our newer members.  Jacob Allison had a nice bracket with a SD State Champ and another very good kid from Groton.  He beat the state champion but finished second to the kid from Groton in a close match even though there was a 8-10 lb weight advantage for the other guy.  Hailey Roehrich had a great tournament going 3-1 and taking second.  Congratulations to her.

Joseph and Sam Grove participated in the Marshall AAU tournament on Sunday.  They both went undefeated and took first place.

The AAU Winter Nationals in Omaha turned out to be a very tough tournament with very deep brackets including Tulsa National champions and several state champions from many states.  Tech Team was repsresented by 7 members this weekend.  From a competition perspective this would rank above Big Horn and MYAS and pretty close to Liberty.  I would hope we consider this as a team event next year.

This past weekend saw the tech team kickoff its 2009 wrestling tournament season in Loveland, CO at the Big Horn Nationals.
