The Tech Team did well this weekend in Iowa.  Saturday we wrestled at the Indianola tournament South of Des Moines.  This tournament turned out to have very tough brackets and a ton of kids. 

Saturday evening we drove to Iowa City and attended the dual between Iowa and Oklahoma State.  It was an exciting dual where the kids were able to watch some of the top ranked wrestlers in the nation including a few who are ranked number 1 in their weight classes.  After the match we were able to go down on the floor and talk to Dan Gable for a few minutes.  All of the kids had there shirts signed by him.  That was pretty exciting for them.  He also mentioned he is coming to Fargo for a speaking engagement on the Wednesday prior to the start of the High School tournament.  If you would like to attend, the link to get tickets is on the dakota grappler.

Sunday we loaded up and headed to Ankeny for another tournament.  This tournament was a little smaller, and probably lighter on competition than Indianola.  With that being said, all of the kids had at least 1-2 tough matches in their brackets.  In the end, all 5 Tech Team members walked away with 1st place and had a great showing in Iowa.  Great Job Guys.

Some notes from Coach Franek:

Positive good leg turks, back pressure, and not giving up on the wizard. Things to work on downward head pressure off of sprawls. Head inside on single sprawl, circle to finish, or cut back, clearing legs on bottom.
