Darren was born in Carrington, ND and moved to Bismarck at the age of 2. He attended Northridge Elementary, Hughes Junior High, and St. Mary's High School. After high school, Darren joined the Marine Corps and served with 3/5 Surveillance and Target Aquisition (STA) platoon as a Scout Sniper. During his tour with the Marines he served in Panama, as well as Desert Storm/Desert Shield. After his stint in the Marine Corps, Darren married Sherry and attended the University of Mary where he graduated with majors in Computer Information Systems and Business Administration. During this time Sherry had their first child, Mercedes. Upon graduation the family moved to Dallas, Tx where he worked as a senior programmer for the Annuity Board and Hotels.com. While in Texas they had their second child, Dakota. In 1999 Darren began working for Great Plains Software which was later acquired by Microsoft. This position allowed the family to move back to Bismarck where they spent the next 4 years. He spent 8 years in the consulting field and later moved to the support division where he has been for the last 3 years working as an Escalation Engineer. The move to support in 2006 resulted in the family relocating from Bismarck to Fargo. Darren completed his MBA at the University of Mary in 2007. He has been associated with the Tech Team since 2006.

Born in Dickinson, ND and grew up in Bismarck, ND. I have 3 sisters and 1 brother. I graduated from St. Mary’s Central High School in Bismarck, ND. In 1990, I started working for US Healthcare, which was later acquired by Aetna. In 1994, I married Darren Galt and had our daughter, Mercedes. I transferred with Aetna to the Dallas, Texas office and had our second child, Dakota. After 10 years with Aetna we moved back to Fargo, ND. I worked for Prairie at St John’s for 2 years before moving to Bismarck. Once in Bismarck I worked for Coventry Healthcare for 2 years, and then I went into early retirement. For 3 years, I was a stay at home mom and the biggest cheerleader for my kids. For the last two years, I have been working part time at Catholic Health Initiatives. And I still am my kid’s biggest fan!

Mark Grove is serving his 2nd term as President of the Board of Directors for Tech Team Wrestling Club. He has been a board member for three years and involved in youth wrestling for nine years. Mark works as an Information Technology Manager for Fargo Jet Center, Inc. and Weather Modification, Inc. based out of Fargo, ND. Married to Kim who is a Medical Social Worker at MeritCare Health System. Mark and Kim have two sons; Joseph and Samuel.

Jeff Meyer is the Publisher of the Pelican Rapids Press in Minnesota. Has no real wrestling accomplishments other then posting a 20-9 record his senior year in high school. He did wrestle a four time state champion, John Miller and didn’t get pinned. “That was my goal when I was a senior not to get pinned by anyone.” He started wrestling when he was in 9th grade. Before that he played Hockey. As a 9th grader he weighed 95 pounds, “Hockey wasn’t my sport,” He then tried out for wrestling and made varsity right away. He got pinned a lot. “I do remember me not getting pinned one time helped us win the dual.” As his knowledge grew in the sport of wrestling, he knew this was a sport that goes deep inside a person’s blood. “When my first son was born, my wife’s first words were, “now you have your wrestler”. We have to travel further then most for Tech Team practices, however, the skills my boys have learned through Tech Team are unbelievable and unmatchable. Interests include: Hunting, water sports, softball, snowmobiling, beanbags, tinkering around the house, love all sports, favorite channel is ESPN or the Food Network.

Dean is beginning his 3rd two-year term of Treasurer for Tech Team Wrestling. He is responsible for collecting session fees, bus fares, tourney fees, payment of bills, and filing timely reports to the IRS and State of ND for our club. Dean is an active member of USA wrestling in ND and holds the Treasurer position for that organization also. Dean currently sits as Past President on the West Fargo BMX association. He was awarded the Lefty Farris award in 2009, awarded to the person in ND that demonstrates the most support of USAWND wrestling. Dean was instrumental in coordinating youth wrestling events and dates to minimize the number of duplicate dates and events.
